One of the names of janapadas was Purana Quila. The archaeologist has found that in later Vedic periods, some of the janapadas were found that can be related to the present position of janapadas. These janapadas were the settlement of that time. The position of the janapadas was like that, Purana Quila was a janapada, now known as Delhi. Hastinapur janapadas were located near Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Atranjikhera janapadas were known as etah, Uttar Pradesh. The map of India in the Vedic and later Vedic periods differed from the map of India.
