[P] on treatment with ${\mathrm{Br}}_2/{\mathrm{FeBr}}_3$ in ${\mathrm{CCl}}_4$  produced a single isomer ${\mathrm{C}}_8{\mathrm{H}}_7{\mathrm{O}}_2\mathrm{Br}$ while heating [P] with soda lime gave toluene. The compound [P] is :

1,2 & 4 on heating with soda lime gives toluene. But on reaction with ${\mathrm{Br}}_2/{\mathrm{FeBr}}_3\text{ in }{\mathrm{CCl}}_4$ 

1 gives 3 products of formula  ${\mathrm{C}}_8{\mathrm{H}}_7{\mathrm{O}}_2\mathrm{Br}$

2gives 1 products of formula ${\mathrm{C}}_8{\mathrm{H}}_7{\mathrm{O}}_2\mathrm{Br}$

& 4 gives 2 products of formula ${\mathrm{C}}_8{\mathrm{H}}_7{\mathrm{O}}_2\mathrm{Br}$
