Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru conceptualised Panchsheel. In 1954, Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru outlined the Panchsheel tenets. The cornerstone of harmonious coexistence was this. With the implementation of the Panchsheel principles, the pursuit of peace in India attained its pinnacle. The idea was fundamental to Sino-Indian relations as well. First and foremost, there should be peaceful coexistence. Second, respect for each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty should be respected. Third, there should be mutual non-aggression. Fourth, there should be mutual non-interference in each other's internal affairs. Fifth, there should be equality and mutual benefit. These are the five main principles that make up Panchsheel as a whole.
