Detailed Solution

Parties present in only one or a few federal units are called state parties.
One is a national party in several or almost all units of a federation, i.e., states. The other is a state party that is present in only one or a few federal units.
A State party is recognised if it wins at least two seats and receives at least 6% of the votes cast in a state's legislative assembly election. If a state party wins at least four seats in the Lok Sabha and receives at least 6% of the vote in four Lok Sabha elections or state assembly elections, it can become a national party.
