Detailed Solution

Pashmina shawls are woven in Kashmir.
Pashmina means ‘gold wool’ in Persian, and this name is given to the wool fabric produced in Kashmir. This weaving process originated in the 15th century. The pashmina shawls are weaved by the artisans called Wovur in Kashmir, and the process is called Won. The weaver functions like a pianist operating with his feet and hands. It takes 3 to 4 days to knit a single pashmina shawl or a stole. For centuries, the pashmina shawls had been woven on handlooms from the wool handspun from the furry coat of a goat, which lives in the Himalayan parts of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir state.
