Detailed Solution

Persian court chronicles referred to the Sultan as the “Shadow of God.”
Muslim Sultans and Padshahs never claimed they were representatives or incarnations of God. However, Persian court chronicles addressed the Sultan as the “Shadow of God.” The Quwwat al-Islam mosque had an inscription that stated God picked Alauddin as the king because he inherited qualities that were present in Solomon and Moses, who were great lawgivers in the past. God was the greatest lawgiver; He was the architect of the world. He introduced symmetry and order to a chaotic world. Kings wanted to prove they had a moral right to be rulers and to please their subjects. By proclaiming their close relationship with God, kings expressed the idea that God chose them for a reason, i.e., to take care of his subjects.
