Let the capacity of the tank be x litres. Quantity of water filled by pipe A in one minute $=\frac{x}{60}\text{ litres }$

so the quantity of water emptied by three pipes in one minute $=\frac{x}{60}\text{ litres}$.

Given that pipe C drains out 16 litres of water in oneminute,
