Place value of a number is the value represented by the digit at a particular place of number while the face value is the value of the digit at a particular place.
For example in a number 345, the place value for Hundred's place digit is 300 while the face value is 3 as the digit 3 is there.
Now in a number the place value is equal to face value at the unit place.
Again from above example 345, the face value and place value of unit place is 5.
