Plasma differs from glomerular filtrate by having plasma proteins.

Glomerular filtrate consists of nutrients (glucose, amino acids, etc.), electrolytes (Na+, K+, Cl-, etc.) and the nitrogenous wastes (urea, uric acid, creatinine, urobilin, etc.). It does not contain plasma proteins, as they are large molecules that cannot get through the filtration membrane. The fenestrae in the blood capillaries do not allow the proteins to get into the filtrate. The proteins are found in urine (proteinuria) only in abnormal conditions like glomerulonephritis.
