Given that,
Marks of Poonam in English = 36 marks.
Marks of Poonam in Hindi = 44 marks.
Marks of Poonam in Mathematics = 75 marks.
Let Poonam has scored x   marks in Science.
The general formula to calculate the mean is,
Mean =  Sum of all observations total  Number of observations              .... (1)  
The mean of the given data is 50.
Therefore, from equation (1), we have,
Sum of marks in all 4 subjects 4 =50  
  ⇒ 36+44+75+x 4 =50 ⇒36+44+75+x=200 ⇒x=200−155 ⇒x=45   Therefore, Poonam has scored 45 marks in Science.
