Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana (PMGY), which was launched in 2000. It is a poverty alleviation program initiated by the central government by providing state government assistance and funds to build primary healthcare and education facilities, shelter, electricity, and safe drinking water facilities in rural areas of those states. To estimate the poverty line in India, surveys are conducted periodically. The National Sample Survey Organisation conducts sample surveys measuring poverty in India.
