Detailed Solution

Praises of Harshavardhana were written by Banabhatta, Ravikirti, and Xuan Zang, the Chinese pilgrim. Evidence about Harshavardhana can also be found in the coins, inscriptions, and biographies. He ruled for about 1400 years. Harshavardhana’s court poet name was Banabhatta, who wrote his biography Harshcharita in Sanskrit. This biography provides information about his journey to becoming a king. The famous Chinese pilgrim who visited India during the reign of Harshavardhana was Xuan Zang. In his travel accounts, he wrote about his administration experiences carried out by Harshavardhana in his kingdom. Harshavardhana became the king of Thaneshwar with the demise of his father and elder brother.
