Prashastis are a special kind of inscription, meaning “in praise of”. Even though they were written in Sanskrit, there was no guarantee that the information included in the prashasti was accurate. The well-known and knowledgeable brahmins who composed Prashasti. Every brahmin recorded the laudatory facts about a monarch in his or her prashasti.
