Harishena composed Prashastis to praise ruler Samudragupta. The famous Allahabad Prashasti is his work. It talks about the bravery of Samudragupta and describes his greatness as a warrior. He was popularly known for his Kavya poetry. He was a distinguished poet and writer; his work included both verse and prose. Prashastis are named as some of the most difficult and magnificent works. An ordinary person can't read or understand them as they are written in the Sanskrit language. It also contains long Sanskrit sentences, making it even more celebrated now.
