Detailed Solution

Prime Minister Indira Gandhi released the Wheat Revolution Stamp in 1968.
The wheat revolution was an operation under the Green Revolution. It aimed to increase wheat production in India. After the successful implementation of the wheat revolution, a similar method was adopted to increase rice production in our country. Since India aimed for self-sufficiency in food grains after its independence, India took such steps under the green revolution. Also, with an exponential increase in the foodgrains, seasonal and chronic hunger decreased in India. However, the rise in food grains was not proportionate. States like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh did well, while others didn't.
