Printers travelled from Germany to other countries. The earliest printing technology was conceived in East Asia, and more specifically, China. These printing ideas went from China to Europe through the Silk Route. Johann Gutenberg then worked on this technology and came up with the world’s first printing press. This was a game changing innovation. The demand for more presses grew, and they were set up outside Germany. Printing presses were established in most European countries between 1450 and 1550 as printing technicians from Germany moved to other countries to assist in the establishment of new presses. Book production increased correlationally as the number of printing presses increased.
