Pushkar Lake is located in Ajmer.
The town of Pushkar, popularly known as Pushkar Sarovar, is located adjacent to the city of Ajmer in the western Indian state of Rajasthan. Pushkar Lake is regarded as a holy body of water by Hindus. The Hindu scriptures refer to the creator-god Brahma as "Tirtha-Guru," the perception of pilgrimage sites connected to a body of water. His most famous temple is in Pushkar. Pushkar Lake has been depicted on coinage from the fourth century BC. Pilgrims flock to the 52 bathing ghats that encircle Pushkar Lake to take a sacred bath, especially during Kartik Poornima (October–November), when the Pushkar Fair is held.
