Pyramid of numbers represent the number of organisms at each trophic level. In general, in an ecosystem, the number of producers is more than the number of consumers, hence the pyramid of numbers is upright in many ecosystems. However, in a forest ecosystem, the first trophic level consists of plants are less in number, since a forest has trees and lower vegetation is not much due to non-abundance of sunlight, we consider trees as the main producers.
