Transpiration is the process by which the water from the plant is released into the air through the leaves. The leaves contain small pore-like structures called stomata. Guttation is the process through which water or xylem sap is released from the pores of the plant and settles on the leaves of certain plants.  Transpiration and guttation are the processes that help in the transportation of water and minerals from the source to the sink.  This happens because in both these processes the movement of water takes place from the root to the leaves.  On the other hand, photosynthesis is the process that includes the formation and storage of food material in plants.  It does not involve the transport of materials.
