Demerits of democracy is that it is all about power and politics , a much long delayed process of taking any decision and leaders keep changing in democracy, hence it leads to instability.
As there are people saying democracy is the best form of government as compared to other forms there are arguments supporting its demerits too. Some of them say democracy is just about power and politics. It's said that elections in democracy give results in the favour of those who are popular among the individuals. The smooth functioning of parliament in a democracy always requires a majority in favour and for doing so political parties are always involved in this great competition of acquiring power and playing politics. Also, some arguments are that as a leader in democracy keeps on changing it leads to instability in the country as any of the policies implemented by the former leader may not be liked by the new leader and they may change it, which leads to improper functioning of the country as a whole. The decision-making time is also a great problem for the people as the long process of making decisions leads to delayed progress or dissolving of decisions altogether.
