Detailed Solution

The river Narmada has its source at Amarkantak. Amarkantak is a mountain range located in Madhya Pradesh. The Narmada river is bordered by the Satpura in the south and the Vindhya range in the north. It forms the Dhuandhar waterfall near Jabalpur and a gorge of marble rocks. It finally meets the Arabian Sea south of Baruch to form a 27-kilometre-long estuary. The Narmada river covers a distance of about 1,312 km and an area of about 98,796 square kilometres.
