Detailed Solution

Himachal is known as the lesser Himalayas. The Himalayas are India's youngest fold mountain range stretched over the Northern borders. These mountain ranges are west-east from the Indus River to the Brahmaputra. These mountains are one of the most rugged mountain barriers in the world. The northernmost range of the Himalayas is known as the Himadri, Inner Himalayas, or the Great Himalayas. South of the Himadri range is the Himachal or lesser Himalaya. These ranges are highly compressed rocks between 3700 and 4500 metres. The Himachal, or lesser Himalayas, is famous for the Kangra and Kullu valleys in Himachal Pradesh. The prominent ranges in Himachal or Lesser Himalayas are the Pir Panjal range, the Daula Dhar range, and The Mahabharat range.
