The Gross National Happiness term was first introduced in 1972 by the 4th king Jigme Singey Wangchuk of Bhutan. This concept was enacted in the year 2008. The king said that the Gross National Happiness is more important than the Gross Domestic Product. It gives more stress to environment conservation, better governance, development and culture preservation.
