The NPT (Nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty) came into force in March,1970, is an international initiative to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons leading to their total elimination. It was a regime of the United Nations Security Council and Disarmament machinery.
In simple language nuclear proliferation is basically the process when a certain country is permitted to manufacture nuclear weapons and the treaty to limit the spread ( proliferation) of Nuclear weapons is called the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
