Qutb Minar was constructed by Qutbuddin Aybak. The construction started in 1199. It is one of the most famous architectural structures of the Delhi Sultanate. The Qutb Minar has a total of five storeys. Out of these, the first storey was constructed by Qutbuddin Aybak. However, after his death, his son-in-law, Sultan Iltutmish, finished the construction of the minaret around 1229. The minaret was further repaired by Alauddin Khalji, Muhammad Tughluq, Firuz Shah Tughluq, and Ibrahim Lodi.
