Qutb Minar was constructed in 1199.
Qutbuddin Aibak oversaw the construction of Qutub Minar, which was constructed in 1199. It is five storeys high, and there are two bands of Arabic inscriptions, geometrical designs, and small arches beneath the balcony. The Minar has a curved and angular surface. Some of the most skilled craftspersons were employed to carve intricate inscriptions. Qutbuddin Aibak constructed the Qutb Minar’s first floor. The rest was built by Iltutmish around 1229. Over time, lightning and earthquakes damaged the structure. However, the repairs were taken care of by Muhammad Tughluq, Firuz Shah Tughluq, Ibrahim Lodi, and Alauddin Khalji.
