Detailed Solution

RAAS - Renin Angiotensin Aldosterone System is a specialized response of the body in order to maintain the optimal blood pressure of the body. When the blood pressure falls it is sensed by the JG cells in the kidney. They release a hormone called Renin in response to this. Renin converts Angiotensinogen in to Angiotensin I. Angiotensin I is converted in Angiotensin II by enzyme ACE. Angiotensin II causes vascular constriction and stimulates adrenal cortex to release Aldosterone which causes water and salt retention and thus increase the blood pressure.
