Radicals disliked the concentration of property in a few hands.
Radicals wanted a country in which the majority of the public was represented in the government. Many people backed the women's suffrage movement. They rejected the privileges of large landowners and wealthy manufacturing owners, unlike liberals. They were not opposed to private property but objected to it being concentrated in the hands of a few. Conservatives opposed radicals and liberals. Conservatives had previously been adamantly opposed to change in the eighteenth century. Conservatives also opened their eyes to the necessity for change after the French Revolution. However, by the nineteenth century, they had come to terms with the fact that change was unavoidable.
