Detailed Solution

Ramabai was given the title ‘Pandita’. Ramabai (1858–1922) promoted women's education for a cause. Although she was never in school, her parents taught her how to read and write. Being able to read and write Sanskrit earned her the title "Pandita", which was an impressive accomplishment considering that women were not permitted to have such knowledge at that time. In 1898, she established a mission in Khedgaon, a town close to Pune, where widows and underprivileged women were urged to acquire literacy and independence. The Ramabai Mission is continuing today.
