Detailed Solution

Rani Durgawati ruled on behalf of her son after the death of his husband Dalpat. The centralisation of the Gond administration that helped them to emerge as a large state also changed the nature of the Gond society. Now society was unequally divided into social classes, where Brahmanas became influential by getting land grants from rajas. The Gond chiefs desired to get recognition as Rajputs. Aman Das, the Gond raja of Garh Katanga, took Sangram Shah's title. He got his son Dalpat married to the princess Durgawati, daughter of Salbahan, Rajput raja of Mahoba. After the death of Daplat, Rani Durgawati ruled as a regent for his 5-year-old son, Bin Narain. The kingdom became more extensive under her rule.
