Detailed Solution

Ration shops established by the government are also known as fair-price shops.
The government established ration shops, which kept the stock of food grains, sugar, and kerosene oil. These shops are also called fair price shops because the food procured by the food corporation of India is distributed among the poor section of our country through these ration shops. The government established over 4.6 lakhs of ration shops in our country, and ration shops play a vital role in providing the stock of food grains from the area of surplus to the size of the deficit. Anyone with a ration card can buy food grains from their nearby ration shop. Usually, ration shops provide food grains at Rs 2 per kg of wheat and Rs 3 per kg of rice, which has not increased since 2013.
