Let E = student has failed in Economics, M= student has failed in Mathematics P(E)=50100=12,P(M)=35100=720

and P(EM)=25100=14

Now 

 P(EM)=P(E)+P(M)-P(EM)                  =12  +720  -14                     =10+7-520                    =35
