Cerebellum (‘the little brain’) is the second largest part of the brain. Cerebellum has very convoluted
surface in order to provide the additional space for many more neurons. It consists of two cerebellar hemispheres and a central vermis. Each cerebellar hemisphere consists of three lobes namely anterior, posterior and floccular lobes. It has a branching tree - like core of white matter called arbor vitae (the tree of life) surrounded by a sheath of grey matter (cerebellar cortex).
