Statement I: In plants sugar is transported from one point to another by the vascular tissue phloem as a result of pressure differences between the two points.

In the light of given statements, choose the correct answer from the options given below.

Phloem is the vascular tissue responsible for the transport of sugars and other organic compounds from source to sink in plants. This transport occurs as a result of pressure differences between the two points, with sugars moving from areas of high pressure to areas of low pressure.  In mass flow, substances are swept along at the same pace, regardless of whether they are in solution or in suspension. This is because mass flow is driven by pressure gradients, which cause substances to move along in a concerted manner.
