Dutch speaking was the majority community in Belgium.
Belgium is a small country in Europe. Out of the total population of Belgium, 59 per cent of people speak the Dutch language. But in Belgium's capital, Brussels, they are in the minority; only 20 per cent of the total population speaks the Dutch language. Even though French-speaking communities are in the minority in Belgium, they are the majority in the capital, where 80 per cent of the population speaks French. The French-speaking community is powerful and rich in the country. This led to conflict between these two communities.
