The parts marked as 1, 2, 3 and 4 in the given figure of human eye are respectively cornea, iris, blind spot and choroid. Cornea (1), the anterior portion of sclera, is the transparent, dome-shaped window covering the front of the eye. It is a powerful refracting surface. Blind spot (3) is the area on the retina without receptors that respond to light. Therefore an image that falls on this region will not be seen. It is in this region that the optic nerve exits the eye on its way to the brain. Choroid (4) is the layer of blood vessels and connective tissue between the sclera (white of the eye) and retina.
