Concept- The present ages of Rekha and Ishita are 40 and 16 respectively. After this question, it is stated that Rekha is 24 years older than Ishita at the outset, and that in 8 years, Rekha's age will be double that of her daughter. To get these ages, we will create two equations for these two conditions, which we will then solve.
Let Rekha's age as of right now be x.
Her daughter's age at this time is y.
Since Rekha is reportedly 24 years older than her daughter, we may write that Rekha is 24 years older than her daughter.

Now that it has been said that she would be twice as old as Ishita in 8 years, we may write this as Rekha will be twice as old as Ishita in 8 years.
