Detailed Solution

The given statement is true.
The resistivity of a substance does not depend on its length or thickness. Instead, it depends on the nature of the substance and temperature.
Resistivity, also known as Specific resistance, is a fundamental property of a material that measures how strongly it resists electric current. It is represented by  (rho). The SI unit of resistivity is Ωm. The resistivity of a substance is numerically equal to the resistance of a rod of that substance which is 1 metre long and 1 square metre in cross-section of a conductor.
The formula for resistivity is,
               Resistivity (ρ)=×Al
Where,
R= resistance of the conductor
A= area of cross-section of the conductor = length of the conductor
