Consider one side of a rhombus as x.
Since all sides of rhombus are equal,
⇒ PQ = QR = RB = BP = x
We know length of sides of triangle AB = 12cm and BC = 6cm
∵AP = AB−BP
⇒ AP = 12−x
Also,

Δ ABC \sim ΔAPQ

\frac{AP}{AB} = \frac{PQ}{BC}

\Rightarrow \frac{12 - x}{12} = \frac{x}{6}

\Rightarrow x = 4
