Given, dimensions of the water tank = 180 cm×120 cm×60 cm
Since, top of the water tank is covered with an iron lid
Thus, the area of tank to be covered with the tiles = area of base + area of walls
=

lb + 2 (l + b) h

= 180 \times 120 + 2 (180 + 120) (60)

= 21600 + 36000

= 57600

Area of tile = length of tile

breadth of tile

= 10 \times 8 = 80 cm

Therefore, number of tiles required

= \frac{area of tank}{area of 1 tile} = \frac{57600}{80} = 720

Since, cost of 12 tiles = 480

\times \frac{720}{12} = 480 \times 60 = Rs 28800
