Detailed Solution

Robert Owen, a leading English manufacturer, sought to build a cooperative community New Harmony in Indiana in India, U.S.A.
New Harmony in Indiana was established by Robert Owen in India and USA. It was cooperative. Cooperatives were groups of people that worked together to manufacture commodities and split the earnings based on the amount of effort done by the members. A number of socialists opposed private property and had many different views on how a society should exist without private property. They believed in the supremacy of these co-operatives. Robert Owen (1771-1858), a prominent English industrialist, attempted to establish a cooperative city in Indiana called New Harmony (USA).
