Detailed Solution

Given, Rs 3500 is to be shared among three people so that the first person gets 50% of the second, who in turn gets 50% of the third.
Let the third person gets the shared amount is Rs x .
The second person gets the shared amount = 50% of x.
We know that a% of b = a100×b where a and b are real numbers.
The second person gets the shared amount = 50100×x
The second person gets the shared amount = x2
First person gets the shared amount = 50% of x2.
First person gets the shared amount = 50100×x2
First person gets the shared amount = x4
The total sum of three persons shared amount = x+x2+x4.
3500=4x+2x+x4
7x4=3500
= 2000
Second - person gets a shared amount = x2
Second - person gets a shared amount = 20002
Second - person gets a shared amount = 1000
Hence, the second person gets a shared amount of Rs.1000.
Hence, option 2 is correct.
