Detailed Solution

RTI stands for Right to Information.
In October 2005, the government enacted an act to ensure all the information of the government departments was available to its citizens. The Right to Information is an act that ensures accountability and transparency in the workings of public authorities. As per the RTI, any citizen has the right to request the required information from the public authorities within 30 days or expeditiously. This act applies to all India's states and union territories except Jammu and Kashmir, which has its own separate individual act. This act is known as the Jammu and Kashmir Right to Information Act and was introduced in 2009.
