Detailed Solution

Sambad Kaumudi was published by Raja Ram Mohan Roy.
In this period, there was a lot of conflict between social and religious reformers and the Hindu orthodoxy over issues such as widow immolation and monotheism. As the debate progressed in Bengal, tracts and newspapers proliferated, disseminating a wide range of viewpoints. It was decided to publish the ideas in a language that the average person would understand: everyday, spoken language. After the publication of the Sambad Kaumudi in 1821 by Rammohun Roy, those who adhered to the Hindu orthodoxy commissioned the Samachar Chandrika as a response to his ideas. In 1822, two of the first Persian newspapers to come out were Jam-i-Jahan Nama and Shamsul Akhbar.
