Detailed Solution

Samrat Ashoka introduced Dhamma to solve the problems in his empire.
Samrat Ashoka introduced dhamma to deal with the issues which occurred to him during his rule. People in the empire followed different religions, which sometimes led to conflict. Animals were sacrificed, and enslaved people and servants were ill-treated. Hence, Ashoka felt the responsibility to solve these problems. Ashoka’s dhamma did not involve worship of God or performance of sacrifice. He also appointed dhamma mahamatta, who went from place to place, teaching people about dhamma. Hence, there were also various other ways in which he conveyed the teachings of Buddhism.
