Detailed Solution

Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan aims to educate all children between the ages of 6 to 14 by 2010.
The Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan is a programme launched by the government in 2001 to achieve the universalisation of elementary education. Free and compulsory education for children in the age group 6-14 was made a fundamental right in the Indian Constitution, and SSA aims to fulfil this right. Some other features of SSA are:
1)      This programme is anchored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now the Ministry of Education).
2)      SSA is known as the "Education for All" movement.
3)      This programme is being implemented jointly by the Centre and the states.
4)      Initially, SSA aimed to achieve its objectives by 2010, but its timeline has been extended.
