It is given that,
Savita bought

25 m

of ribbon and Kavita

34 m

of the ribbon.
Therefore the total length of the ribbon that Savita and Kavita bought is

25 + 34 .

However, to add unlike fractions they must be converted into equivalent fractions. The LCM of the denominator 5 and 4 is 20.
So, we convert the given fractions into equivalent fractions with denominator 20.
Thus,

25 = 2 × 4 5 × 4 = 820

34 = 3 × 5 4 × 5 = 1520

Therefore,

25 + 34 = 820 + 1520 = 8 + 15 20 = 2320

Thus the total length of the ribbon that Savita and Kavita bought is

2320 m .
