Detailed Solution

Sectional interest groups promote the interest of a particular section of society.
Pressure groups are formed when people with common interests come together. They are two types: Sectional Interest groups and Public Interest groups. Sectional interest groups are those pressure or interest groups that promote the interest of a particular section or group of society. For example, a labour union is a sectional interest group. It only encourages the interest of the labour community in society and works for their welfare only. Similarly, there are various trade unions, farmer unions, student unions, teachers' unions, and railway unions. All these promote the interest of their section only.
