Detailed Solution

Secularism means the state does not have a religion of its own. The state does not favour or give privilege to any religion and remains neutral to all religions. A secular state gives its citizens the right to freedom of religion by which they can adhere to any religion of their choice. Indian secularism practices distancing itself from all religions; however, it has the constitutional right to intervene in religious affairs. It has to be neutral and impartial to all religions. It cannot give privileges to a particular religion at the cost of discriminating against people of other faiths.
