Detailed Solution

Sekar has to sell paddy to the trader because he has to pay back Loans.
Sekar has to sell paddy to the trader because he has to pay back loans. Sekar, being a small farmer, has to borrow seeds and fertilisers from the trader and, in return, is obliged to sell most of his harvest to the trader only and that too at a low price. Thus, a large part of his harvest is given to the trader to pay back his loans. The trader, through his agents, reminds the farmers from time to time that they have to sell their harvest only to him in return for his loans. He usually gets 60 bags of paddy from his field, out of which some are sold to the traders to pay the loans and the rest of the harvest is used by his family for subsistence. He is left with very little to sell on the market. He has a hybrid cow whose milk he sells in cooperatives, earning a small surplus in this way.
